The month of Karthigai commenced from the 15th of November to ends on 15th of December. This month is the auspicious month of Lord Shiva. In this month all devotees light up many lamps as it is believed that they evade all evil and sorrow of our life and bring happiness, joy and prosperity to our lives. Of the entire month the Monday’s are the most auspicious days called as Karthiga Somavaram. On this day people generally fast the whole day and then in the evening they light many lamps in the name of Lord Shiva. The video is the special Harathi given to the Lord Kapaleshwar on the last day of Karthigai in Mylapore, Chennai, India. Kapaleeshwarar Temple: It is a Hindu temple dedicated to lord Shiva located in Mylapore, Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The form of Shiva's consort Parvati worshipped at this temple is called Karpagambal is from Tamil ("Goddess of the Wish-Yielding Tree"). The temple was built around the 7th century CE and is an example of Dravidian architecture.
